QUB ATHLETICS: ROAD RELAYS REPORT

By Alex Edwards- Photographer

The QUB Athletics team at Victoria Park’s Road relay’s, the club’s first racing event this year

It was more than a mizzle as the Queens Athletics Club team members gathered at Victoria Park on Saturday 1st October for the NI Relays.

The chips used for timing were ankle tags, a new experience for some of the runners!

After the masters male and female had run, it was time for our teams to run in the Senior categories.

The ladies had a strong run, finishing in the top 10 teams.

The Ladies Team

We were able to field two teams for the male category, with both teams running well.

In a heart-breaking turn of events, the A team’s final time wasn’t recorded, leaving them with a did not finish result.

An action shot from a sunny race day!

Despite this, it was a day enjoyed by all and an enjoyable first event of the year. And in true QUB Athletics fashion it was well celebrated that evening!
