Gig Preview: Newton Faulkner (at the Mandela Hall, 6th October)

By Louise Loney

Newton Faulkner, who has in the past performed a number of sold-out shows in Belfast, will be taking the stage at The Mandela Hall this Saturday, 6th October.

Newton Faulkner emerged in 2007, strumming his guitar and providing a number of feel good hits. Faulkner’s debut album, Hand Built by Robots, secured his position within the music industry.  His vibrant yet laid back approach resonated among music lovers from a variety of genres. After the positive response to his first album, the pressure was on to deliver with his second, and in 2009, Rebuilt by Robots was released to roars of approval from his fans.

The singer-songwriter’s third album, Write It On Your Skin, successfully debuted at number one on the official UK album chart back in July. With ballads such as “Pick Up Your Broken Heart” Faulkner’s continued success is unsurprising. Once again, he unashamedly bares all in the poignant lyrics and proves his exceptional talent as an artist.

Newton Faulkner will be supported by Colo§ur The Atlas. Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster and all usual box offices.  For further details visit shine.net
